Interview on Capt. Cacophony's Cosmic Cadaver

About a year ago I did an interview on the insanely awesome show Capt. Cacophony's Cosmic Cadaver hosted by the infamous James Powell and presented by Magic Monster X. James is an awesome guy. Probably has the most keyboards out of anyone I know (I bet he's around 30 now). With both of us playing bass we first struck a great repport. You wouldn't think it - he being in a gothic band and me being a hip hop cat, but we struck a chord with gear and same tastes in music of crazy genres going in depth as crust metal. The interview focused mostly around the MPC 2000xl, the main drum machine I was using at the time, along with my music and how the MPC series separates itself from other gear.

I also got to feature a couple tracks -  All These Gifts and an unreleased track called M02. M02 incorporated samples from Warner Bros cartoons. Most drum sequences and loops you hear on this interview were all sampled from WB haha. Anyway enjoy that is if you can get around the hardcore delays

The FAD. Futuristic looking Peruvian assault rifle produced in 2008. Less than 200 made to date.

The latest beat machine from AKAI to date. The MPC 5000. Originally, being a big, big brother to the MPC 3000, it was to be the 3500, but since they saw that it as more like a gargantuan brother on steroids they switched it up to 5000. This one has a custom Vader black vibe to it.
Screen capture from a movie... =)

"...And then there was me. Little Jack Frost. Me and The Lost One. The King-Of-All-Tears. I Remember I was dead calm. I reached into that bag Tom had left me and there was a little tin filled with fag ends he must have saved up from ashtrays and gutters. I crumpled them up into ash and drew a circle round me. You know the weird thing? It's the way it all seems normal. You're standing there with an alien demon or something right in front of you and it all seems normal. It's only afterwards it hits you. After it all, you're thinking 'what the fuck was that?' It could't get at me. I didn't know how I'd managed to put up a shield, but I had. It just felt like I wasn't alone in my head. It felt like I had guests. Then something just clicked. It wasn't in my head; it was like a door opened in my heart and I knew what to do. I'd always known. "

Updates and classical music

i must announce that FEBUARY 13TH is Elephant Hunt's debut at the labcabin. its should be a great line up. im trying to get Against The Grain on the bill which will be great the Blu man is out of town right now so we are just mixing out the 3 songs and rehearsing without a drummer for now. trying to get out our 3 songs ASAP. gonna work overtime for this shiz! Eddie brought up the composer scriabin to me earlier and it made me think of this piece... i remember in long beach my practice rooms were right next to the piano rooms and there was a pianist, many years ahead of me, who played this piece frequently. enjoy!

frysmith

so my friend/sax player/chef extraordinaire has started his own business called the frysmith. the coolest thing is that its a TRUCK! yes, a fry truck. also, they try to make your order less than 10 bucks which i find to be awesome too. i went to the soft opening where they sampled their stock menu. just think of awesomeness plus fries! i got their chili cheese fries and it was seriously a meal in itself. no joke a MOUND of chili on top of the those fries. check out pics (theses are all from their site):

currently spinning: brazillian compilation called back in brazil, danny elfman, mumkai, steely dan: aja, casino soundtrack, some bollywood soundtracks...
